Homemade Muesli

Muesli is a fabulous, tasty, nutritious way to start the day. This recipe is just a guide to make your own muesli. Play around with different ingredients and quantities till you get it just the way you like it.

What you’ll need:

3 cups traditional oats

2 cups bran

1/4 cup mixed seeds – pumpkin (pepitas), sunflower, flax

1/3 cup chopped unsalted nuts – almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, walnuts, brazil nuts

1/3 cup dried fruit – apricots, sultanas, goji berries, currants, blueberries, dates

2 tbsp chia seeds

2 teaspoons cinnamon

How to make it:

Combine all ingredients except for dried fruit and chia seeds in a large bowl and mix well.

Sprinkle the mixture onto a baking tray lined with baking paper. Cook in the oven on low heat for around 15 minutes until lightly golden. Allow to completely cool.

Combine mixture with dried fruit and chia seeds and place in air tight container.Muesli

Place 1/3 cup of the muesli mixture in a bowl with skim milk, Greek yoghurt and berries.
